Pierce Baker is a 1982 inductee into the Hall of Fame for Basketball.  He is a native of Corning, a 1965 graduate of Corning-Painted Post East High School.  He received his BS degree from the University of Rochester in 1969 and an MBA degree from the University of Maine in 1972.  For more on Pierce, click here

The Corning-Painted Post Sports Hall of Fame is a not-for-profit service organization dedicated to the promotion of sports in the Corning-Painted Post area.  As such the purpose of the organization is to recognize outstanding sports accomplishments of individuals and/or groups of individuals by inducting them into the Corning-Painted Post Sports Hall of Fame.  Click here to see the Qualifications for Membership as outlined in the Hall of Fame Bylaws:

Frank Watts, age 88, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2009.  He was one of the original charter members of the Corning-Painted Post Sports Hall of Fame and served as its Recording Secretary from 1974 to 2004. For full story, click here:
